Singapore, 5 November 2025 – PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk (“GEMS”) received the prestigious Indonesia Sustainability Innovation of the Year – Metals & Mining award at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2025 held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. This award is presented to companies in Asia that are recognized for successfully prioritizing innovation and sustainability in their business operations.
According to GEMS’ 2024 Sustainability Report, the company recorded a total carbon emission of 717.5 thousand tons of CO₂ equivalent, with an emission intensity of 0.027 tons of CO₂ equivalent per ton of coal produced. Energy consumption reached 12,382,891 gigajoules, with 31,381 megawatt-hours sourced from clean energy supplies. In the same year, GEMS also reported a coal production volume of 50.69 million tons and a sales volume of 51.86 million tons.
The award was received by Ms. Mia Febrina, Head of Sustainability at GEMS. In her remarks, Ms. Mia stated, “This award is a form of appreciation for the hard work of all GEMS personnel in implementing sustainability principles across all our operational lines. GEMS consistently implements sustainability practices through energy efficiency policies, emission monitoring, and post-mining land rehabilitation programs within its operational areas. GEMS has also obtained ISO 14001:2015 certification for Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems as proof of its commitment to high operational standards.
